The new Rideshare Program web site makes it easy for Bay Area residents to find information about ridesharing options in their communities. One of the most useful features on the site is the free, online ride-matching service that can help you find individuals in your neighborhood to share your ride in a carpool or vanpool.

Founded in 1977, RIDES provides services to help San Francisco Bay Area residents learn about and use alternatives to driving alone, such as carpools, vanpools, public transit, bicycling and telecommuting and to help them continue to use the new mode to mitigate the growth of traffic congestion and air pollution in the Bay Area. RIDES encourages individuals to use transportation alternatives to driving alone by providing information about options, facilitating "matches" between individuals who wish to carpool or vanpool and conducting marketing and outreach efforts to businesses and the public.
